Ali Shaikh

Barrister, Solicitor & Notary Public

Ali Shaikh obtained his LL.B (Hon’s) from University of Buckingham, UK and thereafter completed his Bar from BPP Law School, London. During the same year he joined the Honourable Society of Inner Temple London. Later he obtained his LL.M (Masters in Law & Development) from University of Warwick. During the Course of his study he undertook several extensive research undertakings on sensitive social issues such as Muslim Women in Islam, Child Soldiers, Right to Food etc. Being inspired by his father (Late) Mumtaz Shaikh, advocate of Supreme Court in Pakistan, Ali Shaikh decided to practice in his own country and hence he returned to Pakistan in the year 2000. Upon his arrival he was offered to lecture law at the University of Karachi, S.M Law College on subjects of Law of Torts, Contract, Trust, International Law, Banking & Finance and Shipping – Maritime Law. He also taught University of London External Program LL.B students on subjects of Law of Torts and Land Law at SZABIST University Law School. Soon thereafter he was offered a place to study at University of Oxford, New College, in the field of IHRL (International Human Rights Law). At University of Oxford he was trained to appear and draft pleadings before the International Court of Human Rights and International War Crimes Tribunal.

He, thereafter decided to secure a third Post Graduate Degree and his second LL.M in Maritime Law from the University of Wales at Cardiff, UK. He moved to Canada in 2012 and was called to the Bar by the Law Society of Manitoba in 2013. He is currently managing three law offices one in Mississauga, Ontario, Second in Winnipeg, Manitoba and third in Karachi, Pakistan (Mumtaz & Associates Website: www.ma-law.org.pk).

Naimesh Nanavaty

Mr. Nanavaty was appointed as Partner and Head of Real Estate Department of Shaikh Law in January 2017. He received his B.A LLB. from Gujarat University India In 1982.
He has over 18 years of experience practicing Property Law, Family Law, Wills and Estate, Civil and Commercial Litigation in Civil Court, in India. In Canada, he has been working in the field of Real Estate, assisting many lawyers since 2007, He has closed thousands of Residential & Commercial Real Estate transactions. He has also assisted many lawyers in their family & Civil Litigation, Immigration, Wills, and Estate. Manu Batish

Mr. Batish has been called to the Bar in January of 2017 and now has joined Shaikh Law as a partner as well as Head of Winnipeg Office. Manu Batish, Joined Shaikh Law an Articling Law Student, in 2015. Manu received his B.A. LLB from Punjab University, India. In addition, he received his Cyber Law Diploma at University of Maharstra in India. With that being said, Mr. Batish started his professional career in 2009 mostly addressing criminal cases. He has worked on several family law matters and posses a skill of knowledge in the area of Divorce and Family Law.

Sumeet Sood

Sumeet Sood became a partner at ‘Shaikh Law Corporation’ in Winnipeg since August 2015. He received his B.Com. from Punjab University India and LL.B. from University of Lucknow, India in 2003.

Mr. Sood started his professional career in 2003 and practiced until 2010 when he moved to Canada. He successfully accomplished the ITLP (international trained lawyer program) in University of Toronto for understanding the legal atmosphere in Canada. He was called to bar in 2015. He has since then practising primarily in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate , Immigration and Wills & Estate. He is known for his skills in Family, Divorce, Child Custody and Spousal Support matters
